By far the best cross browser checking tool →
Adobe’s Browser Lab is probably the best cross browser checking tool I’ve ever used. Fewer options in terms of the number of browsers and resolutions covered but most major ones are present. The best feature, other than the user interface, is the onion skin display which overlays each image screenshot to show you the differences.

#Sopa #Censorship Show them the money!
Power sits on top of humanity because it exists to control human flaws. Human beings are corrupt by nature - most would rather not do many of the seemingly right things - like pay for books, movies, music - which is why we need laws.
The SOPA idea is simply devious - it’s easier to shut down the site (Facebook, Google, Youtube… any site really) - than to go after the users. But...

Zomato may change something very fundamental -...
Every now and then there is a company which has the potential to change or rather inspire quality by showing organizations a promise of more business. Zomato is right now at that place, where they have a statistically significant amount of data on Indian restaurants to help create a change.
Not many years ago - eating out in India was almost always concluded with some form of unhappy abdominal...

Offline Vs Online Retailing - FIGHT! Don't...
Maybe I am just being naive but to me it makes perfect business sense. The retailing industry players, it seems, have still not realized that one or a few very large companies can’t really provide an optimized shopping experience - at least not in the way we are expecting this business to be conducted. As more and more people want to be treated as “Humans” the solution...

The basic problem is that no one is really sure what the perfect social application would be - Facebook, twitter are their best bets right now but there is immense room for improvement and there will be changes which will come in the future which will get us closer to a real online life social experience.
What is being social? Social means different things to different people - to the constant...

Running an adwords campaign
So we have started doing a small advertising campaign on Adwords. We don’t really have a lot to spend so we have put in a daily budget of Rs.500. I think we are doing pretty well and Google likes us because we have spent a little time really optimizing the campaign.
Anyone who has done adwords will tell you that it’s a pretty optimized campaign - getting clicks with 2 pennies a pop...

Dr. Madhukar Shukla's Advice on online communities
“Internet is a terrain and not a tool. Its about emerging and not appointing. Create intricate touch-points in a community, based on what is required by the members. Such as a new employee who logs in to the company intranet, may find ads with houses for rent and suggestions for new like-minded work-buddies and projects with similar skill-sets.”
There is always way more than what...
I am loving this guy Derek Sivers - I was thinking of doing a writeup on “Ideas Vs Execution” and then I saw this - his story says it better than anything I can write up. The idea is just a multiplier - execution is the money!

Why is JustDial.com not doing deals and more?
Seems like the perfect service they should venture into - they have paying retail advertisers and they can easily create a program where these retailers are allowed to add special offers into their listings for a small extra price. Give them an interface to add coupons for special items. They really have an opportunity to revolutionize this industry and possibly completely replace something very...

The concept of payments - Jack Dorsey Of Square
Jack Dorsey in my opinion is one of those people who are going to influence a lot of change in the coming future. He is the founder and ideator of twitter.com, which has clearly revolutionized real time sharing. The first and the best public office hour
http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/14951420 By far the best public office hours session by Paul Graham - there have been others but the advice on this one is pretty good (partly because the ideas are nicer) and does a good job at inspiring Paul’s way of weighing up a startup and finding problems and suggesting improvements.

Most people don’t know that the original idea with which I started the cite.co network was not a forum or a community based website.
